i’ve been eating like shit for a while now, so i’m on a week-long veggie kick with jesse to detox a bit. i’m on day 3 and it’s been pretty easy so far… however, last night i was tempted by shrimp and homemade fish tacos. it’s super easy to fall into the ‘i’m a veggie who eats seafood trap’ but seeing as how i’m just a pretend veggie for the week, i thought it’d be kinda weak sauce to falter so readily. i’ve got more willpower than that!
anyhow, here’s how the day went. we rolled out of bed around 1pm (i know, lazy as fuck) and then drove to cafe ponte because i had a craving for this tofu sandwich i used to get when i lived in the area:

looks tasty, yeah? i gotta say, tofu sandwiches, good company, and a sunny day in SF = my idea of a good time. riiight? oh, and then we walked down 24th and i ended up getting a lemon cupcake at noe valley bakery. their cupcakes are seriously notso-hotso, but definitely try their asiago cheese roll b/c it’s the best in town (only acme has better, i think)

later for dinner, jesse and i went to a nice mexican birthday dinner for mariah’s cat, who turned 3. as mentioned, i didn’t cave for fish tacos. stuck to my guns and went with the potato cheese enchiladas. fuck yeah, these were awesome! that random pic not of food is mariah’s backyard strewn with flowers. good color contrast.

I like your friends backyard! Have you been to CHACHACHA , I think it is in the mission district. I really liked it there last time I went to SF. They have really good sangria!
