meat locker

yesterday i went to one of those ryan farr foodie events that are all the rage these days in sf. this one was at bloodhound and involved butchering a 175 lb grass-fed steer from magruger ranch, aged 21 days.  the meat was then immediately thrown onto the grill to make fresh burgers and carne asada tacos. grilled pancetta wrapped peaches, chicharrones, and corndogs were also served.

check out the array of gnarly weapons that were used to break this cow down….

um, yeah…they served dick-shaped corndogs.

fyi, this little burger was amazing and probably the most popular item at the event. the server would walk through the door with a tray of them and would immediately get mobbed by grabby, greedy hands. you seriously had to throw some ‘bows to get at one. but they were worth the effort -imagine eating fresh, fresh hamburger on a buttery, crispy bun that tastes like biscuit. mmmm.
